Farming Simulator 22 Review friv game - Steady Harvest

The next edition of Farming Simulator has traditionally received a number of attractive modifications, but not all of the promises were made by Friv2Online equally well. We briefly describe what's new in the game and summarize our general impressions.

It's scary to think, but Friv2Online have been cleaning up their farm for twelve years now. From a small but promising simulator of an "adult" farm, their project has evolved into a large-scale, cross-platform business simulator with so many equipment and mechanics that no textbook takes out.

Seriously, that release hand in hand with the development of Farming Simulator is a major regression in terms of the in-game curriculum. This time igrodely outdid themselves: at the disposal of newcomers only training on the most basic basics and buying up on details, an incomplete knowledge base. Maybe the friv game has become friendlier in general, but certainly not to newcomers.

As you probably know, Farming Simulator has not changed much in its essence in recent years. Maps and interfaces are updated, new earning opportunities and licensed vehicles appear, but the core of the game remains the same. If you were expecting updated physics or improved graphics from Farming Simulator 22, then I hasten to disappoint you - something has really been improved, but nothing fundamental has been offered by Giants Software.

So that the article does not turn into an encyclopedia for a novice farmer, which, if it were worth writing, then in the format of a large and detailed guide, let's focus on the main thing - the innovations of Farming Simulator 22, the main of which were the long-awaited seasons.

The mechanics of the change of seasons led to significant changes in the activities of the inhabitants. By referring to the sowing calendar, farmers are now forced to allocate their time in such a way as to achieve the most efficient yield in each of the seasons, and have time to prepare for frosts.

The seasons determine not only the schedule of field work, but also the dynamics of prices for various crops: spring is the main time for sowing, summer is for preparing fodder, autumn will be spent on harvesting, and in winter you will have to look for additional sources of income, work in greenhouses, trade stocks and clear roads from snow.

Of course, the seasons brought with them visual diversity, which could not but affect the effect of immersion in the game. Snow-covered fields and frozen hills look harsh and atmospheric during the winter months, and in the fall, the world of Farming Simulator 22 is saturated with bright, contrasting colors. They also made seasonal outfits for farmers: warm hats, winter jackets, coats and suits.

As for the general graphical improvements promised by Giants Software, everything turned out quite modestly. The developers have added SSAO, which, however, does not cope well with liquid shadows, and improved lighting and object detail, alas, cannot distract from the outdated, static vegetation textures.

With optimization, by the way, it also turned out debatable. The previous part worked more stable on my PC, there were no microfreezes, let alone crashes (for some reason, Farming Simulator 22 just “collapses” out of the blue from time to time), and advanced settings, like DLSS, for the first time in my memory, only worsen overall game performance.

And despite the fact that the general physics of transport remained unchanged, everything inside the cabin seemed to come to life. Now, when playing in a first-person view, you really feel every bump and pothole in the path of the vehicle, and improved soundtrack emphasizes the uniqueness of different types of vehicles.

Finally, entire production chains have appeared in Farming Simulator, and instead of just growing crops, felling trees or producing silage for sale, you can buy or build enterprises on your site to process and turn raw materials into commodities.

For example, to create biogas fuel for refueling equipment, to make fabrics from wool and sell them in the atelier, to sell ingredients for vegetable oil, cheese or chocolate, to buy a bakery and bake bread in it, and maybe even cakes. Players now have even more options to grow their own farm and get creative with their business.

Several new crops have been added to Farming Simulator 22: sorghum, olives and grapes. The last two need specific care. Vine poles, for example, need to be planted as close to each other as possible, which makes it difficult to cultivate the land without special equipment, and the friv game allocates only one month a year for harvesting olives.

Speaking of vehicles, the developers have introduced even more licensed brands of manufacturers, and the store has a new section with used vehicles and tools. If you look there more often, you can get hold of useful equipment at a great discount, which will not only help farmers save money, but also diversify their park.
